Sample reference letter from school

Understanding the power of reference letter in an application is similar to the understanding you have about the application what I mean is reference letter is one of the key document needed for any application be it school, scholarship or job applications with any kinds of application out there because it's easier for someone who doesn't know you before to believe another persons view of you this is the idea behind reference letter. So you may need to draft a reference letter for your student as his/her professor or instructor describing the student. Nonetheless I started my quest for reference letter samples online, after reviewing many samples I was able to draft out a very interesting letter which I have decided to share the sample here in this Blog in addition I have drafted reference letter from school for three different application process besides only few words are changed while other standard words remain unchanged.

Reference letter drafting steps

Draft out the following information:

1. Professor contact information
2. Introduction of the person he's writing for
3. Student level with current CGPA
4. Professor course attended with grade
5. Professor's observation
6. Communication skills
7. Ability discovered by the professor
8. Positive conclusion by recommending

Here are the samples drafted.

To whom it may concern

I am writing this letter with regard to the request of my student Mr. Isaac Ojo(student name), in support of his application to continue his postgraduate education on scholarship.
I knew the student since Fall 2011/2012(known year) when he started Bachelor of science (BSc) program(program name) in the department of Electrical and Electronic engineering (department). Mr Ojo is a final year student(student level) in the Electrical and Electronic engineering program with a current CGPA of 3.35 over 4.00. He is expected to graduate by June 2015(graduation date). He had attended one of my courses which was Introduction to Logic Design (EENG115)(professor course attended). He was among the first 5% of the highest ranking students in the class and he received grade 'A-' from the course.
Mr. Ojo has always been an outstanding student with lots of enthusiasm, self motivation and determination. He has been very regular, interested and hardworking. Furthermore his communication and comprehensive skills in English are excellent. His abilities on research, design and practical implementation of the course materials have convinced me that he can be a good postgraduate student anywhere in the world.
Therefore, I strongly recommend that his scholarship request for postgraduate studies should be granted and I honestly believe that his approval will serve as a good opportunity for you to observe the quality of our graduates.

Yours sincerely,
XXXX(professor signature and school stamp)
